2010 Falconry Early Migratory Bird Seasons and Bag Limits

Indiana Falconers—
Please note that as of 10-07-2010, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Fish & Wildlife has provided the IFA with the following important information regarding the early migratory bird seasons and bag limits for licensed falconers. As a courtesy to the IFA membership, and at the request of the DNR, we are providing below the information available at this time.

The season for mourning doves, woodcock, and waterfowl (including the regular season dates and extended falconry season dates) are as follows:

Mourning dove

Sept. 1-Oct. 17 (regular season), Oct. 18 – Nov. 4, 2010, and Jan. 1 – Jan. 19, 2011

Woodcock

Sept 20 - Oct 14, Oct. 15-Nov. 28 (regular season), and Nov. 29, 2010Jan. 4, 2011

Ducks, coots and mergansers:
North Zone: Oct. 16-Dec. 14, 2010 (regular season) and Feb. 14–March 10, 2011
South Zone: Oct. 16–22, 2010, Oct. 23-31( regular season), Nov. 24, 2010-Jan. 13, 2011 (regular season), and Feb. 17–March 10, 2011
Ohio River Zone: Oct. 23–29, 2010, Oct. 30-31 (regular season),Nov. 27, 2010-Jan. 23, 2011 (regular season), and Feb. 17–March 10, 2011

Daily bag limit: 3 (singly or in aggregate) Possession limit: 6 (singly or in aggregate) 

Falconry daily bag and possession limits may not exceed three and six birds respectively, singly or in aggregate, during the regular hunting seasons and the extended seasons.
